Who is The Sky Balloons?

The Sky Balloons began as a small idea. Junaid’s wife wanted to start a part-time balloon business — something centred on celebrations and thoughtful surprises. Like most small businesses, the journey was not always smooth. There were periods when things did not go as planned, and the business was not performing as hoped. They chose not to give up. The business had grown quickly. Their catalog expanded to more than 300 products, spread across many collections and categories. While the products looked luxurious, the store experience was starting to feel crowded and harder to navigate, especially on mobile.

1. Managing 300+ SKUs without sacrificing speed or navigation

With 300+ SKUs organised across two levels of collections – occasions, product types, service categories, and merchandising groups like Best Sellers and New Arrivals – The Sky Balloons needed a theme architecture built for scale. Collection pages had to load fast, navigation had to be clear, and the browsing experience had to work without friction for a customer who might not know exactly what they are looking for.

This is where the old theme begin to struggle. Performance degrades. Navigation becomes cluttered. Mobile layouts collapse under the weight of deep collection structures. Junaid needed a theme explicitly designed for stores at this scale.

2. SEO had to remain untouched

The store had been live for a long time. It had built up search visibility, product content, and structured data that Junaid could not afford to lose in a theme migration. SEO was not just a feature request – it was the most repeated concern across his messages and his form submission.

The store relied on delivery scheduling and WhatsApp chat apps. Theme changes often cause layout or functionality issues, so compatibility needed to be tested and fixed.

5. The design had to reflect a luxury brand

The Sky Balloons’ palette – soft pinks, rose, teal, white, and black – needed to come through clearly. Junaid shared brand guide files with logos and colour codes. He trusted the team’s judgement on execution, but the bar for quality was set high from the start.

The Story: From Brief to Live Store in Under Two Weeks

The free theme consulting and setup program starts with a business insights form. Junaid’s answers gave the Omni Themes team a full picture: the target customer, the collection structure, the colour palette, the brand policies, and the design priorities. Design delivered ahead of schedule

The Omni Themes design team completed the Figma mockup on January 9 – six days ahead of the January 15 deadline. Two homepage versions were created for Junaid to choose between. He reviewed the designs and approved them without changes. His only addition was a request to select Version 1, with collections positioned on the top left.

One small update came on the same day as design approval: Junaid asked for a company’s UAE Tax Registration Number to be added to the footer. The design team updated the Figma file and confirmed the position within 30 minutes.

SEO preserved – and set up to improve

The design team reviewed the SEO requirement carefully before a single section was built. All SEO tools and content structures from the original live store were carried over into the new design.

The team also identified additional setup recommendations that could strengthen SEO performance beyond the original site’s baseline. On the schema question, the answer was straightforward: the Maximize theme includes built-in product schema support. Mobile-first setup – desktop adjusted to follow

When the setup team built the live theme, they made a deliberate decision: design for mobile first, then adjust desktop to match. This reflected Junaid’s brief and the nature of the store’s audience. Resolving app conflicts

During setup, the delivery scheduling app caused layout issues in the cart. If left unresolved, customers would not be able to select delivery times correctly- a critical part of the buying process.

The team applied targeted CSS fixes and later improved them when the issue returned after a theme update – to make the fix permanent. The WhatsApp widget also had a positioning bug that required a similar workaround.

These fixes were invisible to shoppers – which is exactly the point.

The bigger Rémi ’s business became, the higher the demand, which made limitations of their original ecommerce platform – ShopApplication- more apparent.

The company was operating on ShopApplication, which is “a little-known French CMS that’s barely used, even in France,” said Rémi.

ShopApplication was great at the start, but as Naturellement Bio goes global, things get more complicated. Though built in 2003, the platform is quite modest in reputation, compared to Shopify, a platform born in 2006. Plus, the customer base of ShopApplication has about 5,500 websites, while Shopify has already established its crowded active merchants, more than 2,5M websites, in Q2 2025.

As a result, the document, support resource, and community of ShopApplication are way less active than Shopify. Since Naturellement Bio has higher expectations in customization, this is a constraint due to rigid templates and limited design options.

Though the old software is 100% French, it is a must to move to a new platform, which is Shopify. And to start that journey to a customized store look, Rémi chose Eurus.
