Who is The Sky Balloons?
The Sky Balloons began as a small idea. Junaid’s wife wanted to start a part-time balloon business — something centred on celebrations and thoughtful surprises. Junaid decided to support her fully, and eventually joined the business himself, putting his trust, time, and energy into building it alongside her.
Like most small businesses, the journey was not always smooth. There were periods when things did not go as planned, and the business was not performing as hoped. They chose not to give up. They stayed consistent, kept improving their products, refined the customer experience, and focused on quality, presentation, and reliability.
The business had grown quickly. Their catalog expanded to more than 300 products, spread across many collections and categories. While the products looked luxurious, the store experience was starting to feel crowded and harder to navigate, especially on mobile.
For the founder, Junaid, this was a problem. Most of his customers shop on their phones. If they could not find what they wanted in seconds, they would leave. They browse by occasion, value a premium aesthetic – think rose gold, champagne, and metallics – and expect the buying experience to feel as polished as the product itself.
Junaid had already managed a live Shopify store on a $400 Shopify theme before, so he was not new to the platform. But the brand had outgrown its setup, and it was time for a theme built for this kind of scale.
Why are they choosing the Maximize Theme?
The Sky Balloons was using another Shopify Theme. It performed well until the product range and number of collections grew; the design became a limitation, especially on the homepage.
Junaid found Maximize through the Shopify Theme Store. The Sky Balloons team chose it for the cost, the reviews, the comprehensive feature set, the speed optimisation, and the mobile-friendliness. For a store running 300+ SKUs, those last two points were not nice-to-haves – they were requirements. Junaid also chose it specifically for the free theme consulting and setup program offered by Omni Themes.
“We switched to Maximize because it offers a much better structure for showcasing products and organizing multiple collections on the homepage. The design makes it easier to feature collections in a clean, visually appealing way while still keeping navigation simple for customers. Maximize also provides stronger mobile layouts and greater flexibility without the need for heavy custom coding. For a visually driven business with a large catalog like ours, it proved to be a better long-term fit.”

The challenge: The Brief Was Clear – and the Stakes Were Real
The Sky Balloons came in with a detailed, well-considered brief. Junaid knew what the brand needed, he knew what he could not afford to lose, and all are noted down clearly:
1. Managing 300+ SKUs without sacrificing speed or navigation
With 300+ SKUs organised across two levels of collections – occasions, product types, service categories, and merchandising groups like Best Sellers and New Arrivals – The Sky Balloons needed a theme architecture built for scale. Collection pages had to load fast, navigation had to be clear, and the browsing experience had to work without friction for a customer who might not know exactly what they are looking for.
This is where the old theme begin to struggle. Performance degrades. Navigation becomes cluttered. Mobile layouts collapse under the weight of deep collection structures. Junaid needed a theme explicitly designed for stores at this scale.
2. SEO had to remain untouched
The store had been live for a long time. It had built up search visibility, product content, and structured data that Junaid could not afford to lose in a theme migration. SEO was not just a feature request – it was the most repeated concern across his messages and his form submission.
The Sky Balloons was also running the SEO app for product schema. So they needed clarity on whether switching themes would break his structured data, create overlap, or silently drop coverage.
3. A mobile experience that actually feels premium
The Sky Balloons’ audience shops predominantly on mobile. The store needed a design that looked and felt premium on a small screen – not a desktop layout squeezed down as an afterthought. So mobile was the primary design target.
4. App compatibility was a live risk
The store relied on delivery scheduling and WhatsApp chat apps. Theme changes often cause layout or functionality issues, so compatibility needed to be tested and fixed.
5. The design had to reflect a luxury brand
The Sky Balloons’ palette – soft pinks, rose, teal, white, and black – needed to come through clearly. Junaid shared brand guide files with logos and colour codes. He trusted the team’s judgement on execution, but the bar for quality was set high from the start.
The Story: From Brief to Live Store in Under Two Weeks
The free theme consulting and setup program starts with a business insights form. Junaid’s answers gave the Omni Themes team a full picture: the target customer, the collection structure, the colour palette, the brand policies, and the design priorities. The brief was thorough, and it shaped every decision that followed.
Design delivered ahead of schedule
The Omni Themes design team completed the Figma mockup on January 9 – six days ahead of the January 15 deadline. Two homepage versions were created for Junaid to choose between. He reviewed the designs and approved them without changes. His only addition was a request to select Version 1, with collections positioned on the top left.
One small update came on the same day as design approval: Junaid asked for a company’s UAE Tax Registration Number to be added to the footer. The design team updated the Figma file and confirmed the position within 30 minutes.

SEO preserved – and set up to improve
The design team reviewed the SEO requirement carefully before a single section was built. All SEO tools and content structures from the original live store were carried over into the new design.
The team also identified additional setup recommendations that could strengthen SEO performance beyond the original site’s baseline. On the schema question, the answer was straightforward: the Maximize theme includes built-in product schema support. Junaid did not need to keep running the existing SEO app for that feature – one less app, one less point of potential conflict.

Mobile-first setup – desktop adjusted to follow
When the setup team built the live theme, they made a deliberate decision: design for mobile first, then adjust desktop to match. This reflected Junaid’s brief and the nature of the store’s audience. The result was a mobile experience built to the exact specification of the design, with the desktop version maintaining the same visual quality.
This approach made a noticeable difference:
- cleaner menus
- faster browsing
- better product visibility without excessive scrolling
What looked like a simple design choice was actually a business decision based on real customer behavior.
During the adaptation process, Junaid and the Omni Themes team worked closely to find out every little detail and adjust them till perfection.
Resolving app conflicts
During setup, the delivery scheduling app caused layout issues in the cart. If left unresolved, customers would not be able to select delivery times correctly- a critical part of the buying process.
The team applied targeted CSS fixes and later improved them when the issue returned after a theme update – to make the fix permanent. The WhatsApp widget also had a positioning bug that required a similar workaround.
These fixes were invisible to shoppers – which is exactly the point.
Support That Did Not Stop at Launch
The relationship between Junaid and the Omni Themes team did not end when the store went live. Over the months that followed, the team continued to resolve issues as they appeared.

Junaid leaves a five-star review.
“The website feels much faster and more professional, especially on mobile. Conversions improved noticeably, and customers complete orders more smoothly. One of the things we love most is how the theme allows us to display and organize a large number of collections on the homepage without making the site feel crowded.”
– Junaid, The Sky Balloons – (Q&A, 27 March, 2026)

The Result: A Live Store That Looks as Good as the Product
The Sky Balloons launched on Maximize with a mobile-first design built around their brand identity. The store reflects the luxury, occasion-driven aesthetic their customers expect – clean layout, brand colours, premium feel – and it went from brief to live in under ten days of active work.
All third-party app conflicts were resolved. The delivery date picker works correctly in both the cart page and cart drawer. The WhatsApp widget stays in position. The mobile menu displays cleanly.
The SEO foundation the store had built over time was preserved through the migration, and the theme’s built-in product schema support removed the need for an app that was previously doing that job. One less dependency, one less monthly cost.
Junaid felt confident enough in the setup to manage the store’s ongoing content himself. The consulting and setup program gave him a professional foundation – and an ongoing support relationship he could rely on when issues arose.
“What we appreciate most about Omni Themes is that it doesn’t just look good — it’s built thoughtfully. For a business like ours where imagery and first impressions are everything, having a theme that loads fast and presents products cleanly makes a real difference. We’d love to see continued improvements around mobile filtering and collection page flexibility, but overall it’s been a strong foundation for our growth in the Dubai market. To any merchant considering it — invest in your storefront. It’s the first thing your customer sees, and it sets the tone for everything that follows.”

The bottom lines
The design-to-setup timeline was tight but smooth: design completed three days after the brief was received, setup completed the day after design approval, and the first support issue was resolved within 24 hours of launch. That pace is only possible when the onboarding information is complete.
Juniad’s final message before leaving five stars: “I truly appreciate your quick support in resolving this.” – is a big motivation for the Omni Themes team to produce better products and offer better services.
